Call waiting was invented as a convenience. But let’s face it. It really turned into a mini-Peoples Choice Awards. You find right away who wins or loses.

You’re having a pleasant conversation with someone you think is a good friend. You ear the click and you’re confident they’re coming back to you. And then they come back and say : “I got to take this other call”. You know what that means ? They just said to the other person : “Let me get rid of this other call”. That’s when you just became “A Call To Get Rid Off”.

Then you learn to trick them. The next time when they say they got to check the other call, you said : “Hey, when you come back remind me to tell you something somebody said about you.”
